Writing Help on the Venice Campus
Need help with a paper -- any paper? Any time you're working on a paper (for any class), you can stop in the Reading & Writing Center in Room 409, Bldg. 400 for free help with any or all of the steps in the writing process:
> picking a topic and getting started
> developing a good thesis statement
> writing strong paragraphs
> learning proofreading strategies Students are welcome to work on their papers in the Reading & Writing Center and use the computers when working on any writing assignment. Instructors are available during posted hours to answer questions and for one-on-one help sessions. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments for one-on-one sessions are strongly recommended. To schedule a time, stop by or call 941-408-1443. Resources for improving reading skills (both speed and comprehension) are also available in the Reading & Writing Center, as well as handouts on everything from commas, run-ons, fragments, and noun-pronoun agreement to Note Taking andTextbook Reading Strategies.
