Faculty Introduction

Hi Students,

Let me start off by telling you a bit about myself. I have been teaching Economics since 2008. I started off as a Business Administration major but then changed my major to Economics after taking Principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics in college. I fell in love with the discipline. Why? I am a visual learner and enjoy thinking outside the box. Economics accomplishes both of these.

I earned my B.B.A. degree in Economics at the University of Mississippi. I earned my graduate degrees in Economics at Portland State University and the University of New Mexico.

I love pets and currently have a beta fish named Maui and a cat named Wendy. Due to my busy schedule, a fish and a cat are easiest for me to care for, but one day I do hope to get a dog. I also volunteer at Big Brothers Big Sisters and truly enjoy being a Big Sister.

In my free time, I enjoy writing, reading, gardening, cooking, watching movies and traveling just about anywhere. I have traveled to Mexico, Canada, all over the Caribbean, and most of Europe. Additionally, I have been to all states. While visiting Hawaii, I really fell in love with the laid back culture, tasty food, and relaxing music.

I am passionate about teaching Economics. Hopefully you find the discipline just as interesting as I do.

All the best,

Prof. Z
