This course should take approximately one to three hours to complete. Please submit discussions, reflections, and surveys to complete this course. This module will be shared to the Canvas Commons as a means to collaborate statewide with institutions who wish to work together to dive deep, better understand, better prepare, and better teach in the world of AI.

Welcome to the Course!

Students will be able to define effective engagement with artificial intelligence (AI) in a learning environment, explain ethical, academic, and practical considerations related to AI use, and demonstrate responsible and purposeful integration of AI to support learning, communication, and assessment.

This course includes peer-to-peer discussion, guided examples of human-centered AI use, and practical strategies for engaging with AI as a learning partner rather than a replacement for thinking. Learners will explore how AI can be used to support idea generation, feedback, reflection, and problem-solving while maintaining academic integrity and authentic skill development.

Throughout the course, learners will be able to send messages through the discussion post to bring forward concerns, excitement, and collaborative ideas to share with others.

Finally, learners will submit a reflective assignment examining their understanding and application of AI engagement strategies, along with completing an end-of-course survey to support continuous improvement of this learning experience.
